How Each Alternative Compares
Brother Compact Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer
The Brother MFC-L2900DW adds fax capability and duplex scanning to the mix, features the HP M125nw lacks. It is slightly wider but offers more robust document handling for small offices that need to send faxes or scan multiple pages automatically. The HP model remains more compact and lighter, making it easier to place in tight spaces. If you require automatic two-sided scanning or faxing, the Brother is the better choice. Otherwise, the HP stays the simpler, smaller option for basic wireless printing and scanning tasks.
Brother Compact Monochrome Multifunction Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L2480DW focuses on speed and automatic duplex printing, which the HP M125nw does not support. It also connects with Alexa for voice control, a feature absent from the HP. This model is heavier and slightly larger, prioritizing function over minimal footprint. You should choose this if you print double-sided documents frequently or want smart home integration. The HP remains a strong contender if you do not need duplex printing or voice commands and prefer a lighter, more compact device for basic office use.
Brother All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer
The Brother DCP-L2640DW provides duplex printing and duplex scanning, offering more automation than the HP M125nw. It is heavier and taller, reflecting its additional mechanical features. The HP model is more compact and lighter, fitting easily on smaller desks. If you regularly scan multi-page documents or need to print double-sided without manual intervention, the Brother delivers better efficiency. The HP is preferable if you prioritize a smaller physical size and do not require automatic document handling features for your daily workflow.
Canon GX3020 Wireless All-in-One Supertank
The Canon GX3020 is a supertank printer designed for high-volume color printing, unlike the monochrome HP M125nw. It is significantly wider and heavier, occupying more desk space. The HP is strictly black and white, making it unsuitable for color needs. If you require color output and high ink yields for large print volumes, the Canon is the appropriate choice. However, if you only need black and white documents and a compact footprint, the HP remains the more practical and space-efficient solution for your office environment.
Canon imageCLASS All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer
The Canon imageCLASS MF275dw supports faxing and duplex scanning, features the HP M125nw does not offer. It also boasts a faster print speed of up to 30 ppm. The Canon is larger and heavier, which may impact placement in tight spaces. The HP is more compact and lighter, suitable for users who do not need faxing or high-speed output. Choose the Canon if you require fax capability or faster document processing. The HP is better if you prioritize a smaller size and do not need advanced scanning automation or fax functions.
Canon imageCLASS Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer
The Canon MF465dw II offers the highest print speed in this list at up to 42 ppm, significantly faster than the HP M125nw. It also includes faxing and duplex scanning, features the HP lacks. This model is larger and heavier, designed for high-volume environments. The HP is more compact and lighter, ideal for smaller teams with lower print demands. If you need fast output, faxing, and automatic two-sided scanning, the Canon is the superior choice. The HP remains the better option for users who value a smaller footprint over speed and advanced features.
