The HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M635fht delivers high-speed monochrome printing with robust security features. If you are researching hp laserjet enterprise mfp m635fht alternatives, you might need a different footprint or connectivity option. This model offers a large paper capacity and fast output, but its size and enterprise focus may not suit every workspace. Some buyers prefer wireless flexibility or a smaller device for a home office. Others may want a dedicated printer without scanning or copying functions. You might also seek a more budget-friendly option that still provides automatic duplexing.

We selected these 6 alternatives because their specifications overlap with the original printer in key areas. Each device supports monochrome laser printing, ensuring consistent black-and-white output for your documents. We compared print speeds, connectivity types, and physical dimensions to find suitable replacements. Some options focus on compact designs for limited spaces. Others prioritize wired Ethernet connections for stable network performance. You can choose based on your specific needs for duplex printing, wireless access, or multifunction capabilities. This guide helps you find a machine that matches your workflow requirements without unnecessary features.

Our top pick: HP LaserJet Enterprise M635fht.

How these alternatives compare

HP LaserJet Enterprise 8501x Monochrome Printer

The HP LaserJet Enterprise 8501x Monochrome Printer serves as a heavier-duty option for mid-sized offices. It weighs 207 pounds, which is significantly more than the M635fht’s 116 pounds, indicating a larger internal mechanism. This model supports duplex scanning, a feature not explicitly listed for the M635fht. While the M635fht emphasizes security features like self-repair from hacks, the 8501x focuses on high-volume workflow management. You should choose this alternative if your office requires duplex scanning capabilities and can accommodate a larger footprint. The blue color and substantial weight suggest a robust build for continuous, high-output environments.

Brother All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer

The Brother All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer offers a compact solution for small offices. Weighing only 25 pounds, it is much lighter than the 116-pound M635fht. This model explicitly supports duplex scanning and wireless connectivity, whereas the M635fht relies on Ethernet for centralized management. The Brother unit provides scan and copy functions, similar to the M635fht, but in a significantly smaller form factor measuring 16.1 by 15.7 inches. You should pick this alternative if you need wireless flexibility and duplex scanning without the bulk of an enterprise-grade machine. It sacrifices the high-speed 65 ppm output for a more manageable size and cost-effective design.

Brother Compact Monochrome Duplex Laser Printer

The Brother Compact Monochrome Duplex Laser Printer is a single-function device, meaning it lacks the scan, copy, and fax capabilities of the M635fht. It weighs just 15.6 pounds, making it one of the lightest options here. This printer supports duplex printing and wireless connectivity, offering speed and simplicity for users who only need black-and-white output. The M635fht is a multifunction device with a 9-inch touchscreen and high paper capacity. You should choose this alternative if you want to save space and avoid the complexity of an all-in-one machine. It is ideal for fast, focused printing tasks without the need for scanning or copying functions.

HP LaserJet Pro Ethernet Duplex Printer

The HP LaserJet Pro Ethernet Duplex Printer is a lightweight, single-function option weighing only 8.35 pounds. It is much smaller than the M635fht, which weighs 116 pounds. This model supports automatic duplex printing and connects via Ethernet, similar to the M635fht’s wired focus. However, it does not offer scanning, copying, or faxing. The M635fht provides a 65 ppm print speed and a large 1200-sheet paper capacity. You should pick this alternative if you need a simple, fast, wired monochrome printer that fits on a desk. It gives up multifunction capabilities for a compact, efficient footprint suitable for single-desktop use.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 Monochrome Printer

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 Monochrome Printer is a single-function device designed for wired simplicity. It weighs less than the M635fht and lacks scanning, copying, or faxing capabilities. This model connects via Ethernet, aligning with the M635fht’s network-focused approach. The M635fht offers a 9-inch touchscreen and high-speed 65 ppm output with a large paper capacity. You should choose this alternative if you prefer a straightforward, no-frills printing experience for a single desktop. It sacrifices the advanced security features and multifunction versatility of the M635fht for a simpler, potentially more affordable setup for basic monochrome printing needs.

Brother Compact Monochrome Laser Printer

The Brother Compact Monochrome Laser Printer is a lightweight, single-function device weighing 15.1 pounds. It supports wireless connectivity and mobile printing, offering flexibility that the Ethernet-focused M635fht may lack. This model does not include scanning, copying, or faxing functions. The M635fht is a heavy, multifunction enterprise device with high-speed output. You should pick this alternative if you need a small, wireless printer for a home office or small workspace. It gives up the high-volume capacity and security features of the M635fht in favor of portability and easy wireless integration for basic black-and-white printing tasks.
