The hp b5l24a bgj laserjet enterprise m553n color laser printer delivers fast color output at 40 pages per minute with a first-page-out time of 8.5 seconds. It connects via Ethernet and prints only, making it a dedicated high-speed workhorse for networked offices. This model measures 18.9 x 18 x 15.7 inches and weighs 59.5 pounds, which fits well in standard workspaces but may be too large for tight desks. How alternatives differ from M553n
HP LaserJet Pro All-in-One Color Printer
The HP LaserJet Pro M283FDW adds scan, copy, and fax functions to color laser printing, whereas the M553n prints only. This all-in-one unit measures 16.5 by 16.6 by 13.2 inches and weighs 41.2 pounds, making it smaller and lighter than the 59.5-pound M553n. It supports Ethernet and USB connectivity. Print resolution reaches up to 600 dpi. You gain multifunction convenience and a smaller footprint. You lose the dedicated high-speed enterprise focus and centralized network management tools found in the M553n. Choose this for small offices needing a single device for all document tasks.
Epson EcoTank Wide-Format All-in-One Printer
The Epson EcoTank ET-15000 supports wide-format printing and offers wireless and Ethernet connectivity. It includes scanner, copier, and fax features, unlike the print-only M553n. This unit is significantly larger, measuring 29.6 by 19.6 by 14.3 inches, and weighs 21.4 pounds. It targets teams needing low running costs and wide-format output. You gain versatile connectivity and document handling capabilities. You sacrifice the compact size and high-speed enterprise focus of the M553n. This model suits offices prioritizing low cost per page and wide media support over the dedicated speed and security features of the HP M553n.
Brother Compact Color Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L3280CDW provides wireless and Ethernet connectivity, offering more flexible networking than the M553n’s Ethernet-only setup. It supports duplex printing and mobile printing. This compact printer measures 15.7 by 10.8 by 15.7 inches and weighs 33.9 pounds, fitting into tighter spaces than the larger M553n. It prints color but lacks scanning or faxing. You gain wireless ease and a smaller footprint. You give up the M553n’s higher speed and enterprise-grade security controls. Pick this for small offices that need fast color printing without scanning needs and value wireless convenience over dedicated wired network performance.
Epson ET-5850 Color Supertank AIO
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 includes scanner, copier, and fax functions, expanding beyond the M553n’s print-only design. It supports wireless and Ethernet connectivity for flexible network access. This unit measures 8 by 14 by 5 inches and weighs 39.2 pounds. It uses a supertank system for high-volume color business printing. You gain multifunction utility and wireless connectivity. You lose the M553n’s dedicated high-speed enterprise focus and specific security features. This printer suits busy offices needing reliable high-volume output with scanning and faxing capabilities in a compact form factor, prioritizing versatility over the specialized speed of the HP M553n.
Brother Compact Color Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L3295CDW offers wireless and Ethernet connectivity, unlike the M553n’s Ethernet-only connection. It supports duplex printing and mobile printing, including NFC. This compact printer measures 15.7 by 17.8 by 10.8 inches and weighs 36.8 pounds. It prints color but does not include scanning or faxing. You gain wireless flexibility and a smaller footprint. You give up the M553n’s enterprise security and centralized management tools. Choose this for users needing fast double-sided color prints in tight spaces. It suits small offices that value wireless convenience and compact size over the dedicated wired performance and security of the HP M553n.
