6 Best Alternatives to the VersaCheck HP Deskjet 2755 MX (2026)

How each alternative compares

HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201dw Duplex Printer

The HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201dw is a dedicated color laser printer, whereas the original uses inkjet technology for check printing. This model weighs 33 pounds and measures 15.35 x 16.5 x 10.0 inches, making it significantly bulkier than the compact 7.55-pound Deskjet 2755 MX. It supports duplex printing and wireless scanning, offering higher volume output suitable for small teams. However, it lacks the specialized MICR software and check paper bundle included with the original. You should pick this if you need professional color document printing rather than secure check generation. It prioritizes speed and network reliability over the specific financial printing needs of the VersaCheck bundle.

Brother INKvestment Color All-in-One Printer

The Brother MFCJ5010DW is a larger all-in-one inkjet printer that includes fax capabilities, which the original lacks. It measures 17.1 x 10.7 x 17.3 inches and weighs 30.9 pounds, offering a more substantial footprint for small offices. This model features a touch screen interface and automatic duplex scanning, providing more advanced multifunction control than the simple setup of the Deskjet 2755 MX. While it supports wireless scanning and copying, it does not include the specialized check printing software or MICR paper. Choose this alternative if you require faxing and a touchscreen interface for general office tasks, rather than dedicated check printing with included materials.

HP Color LaserJet Pro Wireless Printer (Renewed)

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M251nw is a color laser printer designed for network flexibility, differing from the inkjet-based original. It measures 15.9 x 13.9 x 20.2 inches and is black, contrasting with the white Deskjet 2755 MX. This model focuses on steady color output and wired connectivity options, suiting users who prioritize consistent text quality over high-resolution graphics. It does not include the MICR software or check paper bundle found with the original. You should consider this if you need reliable color laser printing for small office teams without the need for scanning or copying functions. It trades the all-in-one versatility of the original for dedicated laser performance.

Brother INKvestment Tank All-in-One Printer

The Brother MFC-J4355DW is a wireless inkjet all-in-one that includes faxing and automatic duplex printing, features absent in the original. It measures 17.1 x 7.1 x 13.5 inches and weighs 19.6 pounds, offering a compact design with versatile functions. This model supports mobile printing and wireless scanning, providing broader connectivity options than the Deskjet 2755 MX. However, it lacks the specialized MICR software and included check paper required for secure check printing. Pick this alternative if you need faxing and duplexing for general office use. It prioritizes ink efficiency and multifunction versatility over the specific financial document printing capabilities of the VersaCheck bundle.

Lexmark Wireless Duplex Color Laser Printer

The Lexmark CS331dw is a color laser printer focused on secure, high-volume printing, unlike the all-in-one inkjet original. It measures 9.6 x 15.5 x 16.2 inches and weighs 35.5 pounds, making it a heavier, more robust unit. This model supports wireless and Ethernet connectivity, offering secure network options for small offices. It includes automatic duplex printing and mobile printing features but lacks scanning and copying functions. It does not come with the MICR software or check paper bundle. Choose this if you need dedicated color laser printing for office teams without multifunction requirements. It trades the versatility of the original for specialized, secure laser printing performance.

VersaCheck 2855 MXE Color Check Printer

The VersaCheck 2855 MXE is another all-in-one check printer that includes MICR software, similar to the original. It measures 17 x 6 x 12 inches and weighs 12.8 pounds, offering a slightly different footprint than the Deskjet 2755 MX. This model supports wireless printing and color output, catering to small businesses needing mobile connectivity. It includes the necessary software for check printing, maintaining the core functionality of the original. However, it may lack some duplex features found in other alternatives. Pick this if you want a dedicated check printing solution with included software and paper. It suits users who prioritize mobile printing and paper size flexibility for financial documents.
