Comparing Alternatives to the Brother MFC-L3710CW
Brother Compact Color Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L3295CDW focuses on dedicated color printing rather than multifunction duties. It lacks the scanning and copying hardware found in the MFC-L3710CW. This model adds Ethernet connectivity alongside wireless options, providing a wired network option the original does not include. It supports duplex printing for automatic two-sided output. You should choose this unit if you already have a separate scanner or copier and need a faster, more specialized color laser printer. It sacrifices all-in-one convenience for streamlined printing performance and additional network flexibility.
Brother Compact Wireless Color Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L3230CDW is a standalone color laser printer without scanning or copying capabilities. It removes the all-in-one features of the MFC-L3710CW to offer a more compact footprint for specific tasks. This model supports duplex printing for automatic two-sided documents. It connects via wireless networks but does not list Ethernet support. You might prefer this option if your workflow relies on separate scanning equipment and you want a dedicated device for color output. It gives up multifunction versatility in exchange for focused printing performance and potentially simpler maintenance.
Epson WorkForce Wide-Format All-in-One Printer
The Epson WorkForce WF-7710 is a wide-format inkjet printer, differing significantly from the laser-based MFC-L3710CW. It handles larger paper sizes and borderless color documents, which the Brother model cannot support. This Epson unit includes scanning, copying, and faxing functions, matching the all-in-one nature of the original. It connects via wireless and Ethernet networks. You should select this printer if your work requires large-format color output or borderless prints. It trades the speed and sharpness of laser technology for the ability to produce wider, high-quality color images on various media types.
Epson Workforce WF-7620 Wide-Format Inkjet
The Epson WorkForce WF-7620 is a wide-format inkjet that prioritizes large output over laser speed. Like the MFC-L3710CW, it offers scanning and copying functions. However, it uses inkjet technology rather than laser toner. This model supports wireless connectivity and automatic ink management. It is designed for users who need wide-format color prints regularly. You would choose this alternative if your office frequently produces large documents or images. It gives up the quick startup and text sharpness of laser printing in favor of versatile wide-format capabilities and automatic ink system management.
HP M477fdw Color Laser All-in-One
The HP LaserJet Pro M477fdw is a color laser all-in-one that offers more robust features than the Brother MFC-L3710CW. It includes duplex printing for automatic two-sided output, a feature the original lacks. This HP model supports wireless connectivity and handles complex office workflows with additional functions. It is larger and heavier than the Brother unit. You should pick this printer if your team needs higher volume handling and automatic duplexing. It provides greater multifunction capability and speed for busy environments, though it requires more physical space on your desk or in your office.
HP LaserJet Pro M452nw Wireless Color Laser Printer
The HP LaserJet Pro M452nw is a dedicated color laser printer without scanning or copying functions. It removes the all-in-one convenience of the MFC-L3710CW to focus on high-speed color output. This model supports both wireless and Ethernet connections for flexible network integration. It is designed for small workgroups that need fast, secure color printing. You should choose this unit if you already have separate scanning and copying equipment. It sacrifices multifunction versatility for dedicated printing performance and enhanced security features suitable for business environments.
