How these models differ from the original
Brother Compact Monochrome Multifunction Laser Printer
The Brother HL-L2480DW switches from inkjet to monochrome laser technology. You lose color printing entirely, gaining only black-and-white output. This model is lighter at 22.2 pounds and slightly narrower than the original. It retains duplex printing and wireless scanning. The trade-off is the absence of fax capabilities. If you need only fast text documents and a smaller footprint, this compact laser suits your needs. You avoid ink tank maintenance but sacrifice the color versatility found in the MFC-J4355DW.
Brother Wireless Color Multi-Function Printer
The Brother HLL3300CDW uses color laser technology instead of inkjet. It is significantly heavier at 40.8 pounds and taller than the original. You gain reliable color laser output suitable for moderate workloads. It keeps duplex printing and wireless scanning. The larger size demands more desk space. If you require consistent color quality for graphics and prefer laser durability over ink tanks, this model fits. You trade the compact inkjet design for a more robust, heavier laser unit with similar multifunction features.
Brother Compact Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer
The Brother MFC-L2710DW is a monochrome laser all-in-one. It lacks color printing but includes an automatic document feeder for batch scanning. It weighs 26 pounds and maintains wireless connectivity. Duplex printing and scanning remain standard. The key difference is the ADF, which speeds up multi-page document handling. If you fax frequently and need efficient scanning of stacks of paper, this model offers an advantage. You give up color output for improved document workflow and fax support in a compact laser form.
Brother All-in-One Monochrome Laser Printer
The Brother DCP-L2640DW is a monochrome laser printer without fax functions. It weighs 25 pounds and is similar in depth to the original. It supports duplex printing and wireless scanning. The main trade-off is the removal of fax capability to keep the design compact. If you need fast black-and-white printing and scanning without faxing, this model is efficient. You lose the all-in-one fax feature of the original but gain a streamlined laser device focused on text output and basic multifunction tasks.
Brother Compact Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer
The Brother MFC-L2900DW is a monochrome laser all-in-one with fax support. It weighs 26 pounds and features duplex scanning. It lacks color printing but offers wireless connectivity. The design is taller than the original inkjet. If you prioritize high-volume black-and-white text and reliable faxing, this model delivers steady performance. You sacrifice color capabilities for a laser-based system that handles document workflows efficiently. It suits offices needing fax and duplex scanning without the bulk of color laser equipment.
HP OfficeJet Pro Wireless All-in-One
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e is a color inkjet all-in-one with an automatic document feeder. It weighs 18 pounds, making it lighter than the original. It supports duplex printing and wireless scanning. The inclusion of an ADF allows for faster batch scanning compared to the original. If you need color printing with efficient document handling and fax support, this model is suitable.
