How Alternatives Differ from Brother MFC-L8900CDW
Canon imageCLASS Duplex Color Laser Printer
The Canon imageCLASS Duplex Color Laser Printer is lighter and smaller than the Brother MFC-L8900CDW. It weighs 35.3 pounds and measures 17 by 16.5 by 11.3 inches, making it easier to place in a home office. Unlike the Brother all-in-one, this Canon model focuses on printing speed and duplexing without built-in scanning or copying hardware. You get wireless connectivity and mobile printing support, which the Brother offers through its Dash Replenishment integration. If you need a dedicated color printer for a smaller space and do not require an integrated scanner, this compact option provides steady output in a smaller footprint.
HP Color LaserJet Pro All-in-One Printer

Both are color laser all-in-ones with wireless scanning, but the HP includes faxing for teams that still need that traditional communication channel. The HP is slightly heavier at 51.6 pounds compared to the Brother’s 63.1 pounds, yet it offers a different approach to office integration. Choose this if you need faxing and enhanced security features over automated toner ordering.

If you want the same Brother color laser performance and supply automation but do not need a scanner, this compact model saves space and weight.
Brother Business Color Laser All-in-One

It measures 16.1 by 20.7 by 21 inches, offering a slightly narrower width but similar height. This model emphasizes high-speed duplex scanning and a smaller physical footprint for busy offices. While the MFC-L8900CDW highlights a 5-inch touchscreen and Dash Replenishment, the MFC-L8730CDW focuses on scanning capacity and speed.
